An attractive Renaissance style French antique bed in walnut with panelled footboard, turned posts, decorative pediment and turned finials. This is a very fine example of the style of bed and the substantial bed frame is of a light walnut colour with a fine patina acquired over the more than 100 years since it was made by artisans in provincial France.
There are minor defects and repairs but this is expected in an antique such as this, and they don't detract from the quality of the bed.
You will need a bed base to support the mattress. Bed bases sit on the bedstead frame and can be either firm or sprung and come in different depths with a choice of covers.
